It seemed that after I had upgraded my Ubuntu system from 16.04 to 18.04 my Epson printer would no longer print. I would send something to print and a message would appear at the top of the screen “Printing Stopped”. The document would be stuck in the queue as “Stopped”.
I searched online and discovered many other people had experienced similar problems following the upgrade. Suggestions I found did not work for me.
What did work was re-adding the printer, this duplicate worked.
- Search application: Printers, or go to Settings > Devices > Printers
- Remove the printer via the gear icon.
- Add the printer again via the green Add button.
Please excuse the poor illustration; I don’t get along with GIMP at all; I need to find an alternative to use on Linux.
